At Connect 2021, Mark Zuckerberg unveiled the new name for Facebook, that have been rumored for a while now
The metaverse is the next evolution of social connection. Our company’s vision is to help bring the metaverse to life, so we are changing our name to reflect our commitment to this future

Meta is Facebook's parents company new name. So the social media platform will still be called Facebook, but the company behind Facebook, Occulus, Instagram and more will now be called Meta
