Why are there some countries without border in Google Maps?

If you lookup Thailand, you'll instantly get a red outline that indicates where the countries border goes

If you do Taiwan, you'll be taken to the country, but there will be no border outline

Reason for this, is that Google have decided not to show border outline on countries with territorial dispute
