Mi Home Security Camera 1080P Review

The Mi Home Security Camera (Xiaomi Mijia) 1080P is part of Xiaomi's line up of CCTV products
There also exist a light version of this product, which doesn't have all the features this model have
Camera
The camera is removable from the body, you just twist to remove itOn the camera you'll find a microSD slot, factory reset button and micro USB port
There's also speakers on the back and a microphone on the front, so you can talk through the Mi Home app and the audio will come from the camera. From my experience these speakers deteriorate a lot over time
Mi Home App
After pairing it with the Mi Home app, you get access to all the featuresHere you can view the live feed from anywhere in the world and also past recordings through Play Back, if you inserted an microSD card
I'm using a 32 GB microSD card and that gives about 3-4 days of recording. I've set the camera to overwrite the oldest footage when it goes full, so if will always record
Night vision
The camera have eight IR lights. When I take a picture if them, they are clearly visible, but for the human eye one can barely see the IR lightsThese can either be automatically turned on/off, always on or always off
When on, you get a very clear picture in the dark
BLE Gateway
Inside the Xiaomi Mijia 1080P, there's an Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) GatewayIf you've other Bluetooth equipment that supports the Mi Home app, such as Mi Temperature and Humidity Monitor 2, you can pair it and have it accessible from your phone as long as you've internet access
Conclusion
The Mi Home Security Camera 1080P gives a decent picture quality and is easy to useThe speaker goes bad after some time, but if you don't plan to use this feature is not a big concern
With the fairly low price, compared to the features you get. It's a good value CCTV option
