Mi Temperature and Humidity Monitor 2
Let's take a look at the second generation of the Mi Temperature and Humidity Monitor
It's nice to be able to check what temperature and humidity it's in a room or outside. It's even better when you can make it smart
Display
It has a LED display, where you can humidity and temperature. It also have a smiley, that will be sad or happy depending on the humidity of the room (min is normally unhappy, always humid in this parts of the world)
It will also show a Bluetooth icon, if you've connected to it by Bluetooth
Mi Home App
With the Mi Temperature and Humidity Monitor 2, you can connect it to the Mi Home app
Either directly with your phone, if you're in range or from anywhere in the world, if you haves a Bluetooth gateway such as Mi Home Security Camera (review)
Battery life and replacement
The battery have lasted me 1 year and about 2-3 weeks before it fully died, it started showing indication on the screen about low battery
To replace the battery, you just need to open the back plate and pull out the CR 2032 3V battery and replace it with a new. It's a fairly cheap and standard battery, which should be to hard to find
Hanging it up
It comes with a double sided tape, so you can hang it up one the wall or elsewhere
I used the double sided tape and glued it to a magnet. Now I can hang it up on my fridge and easily remove if I ever feel like it
Conclusion
It's really nice to be able to see the temperature / humidity directly on the display, but also have the option to check your on your phone. I can open the Mi Home app and see how the temperature is around my home
For a new revision, I wouldn't mind seeing an variant with bigger display. I would also like if they added a hole in the back, so you can hang it on a screw. A variant with a magnet on the back, would also be nice
