Saturday is porridge day or at least it used to be traditionally. Still many Norwegians like to have porridge on Saturdays and rice porridge is my personal favorite. Lets see how to make Norwegian rice porridge (ris grøt)

Directions

Cook the rice

Add milk and vanilla

Keep stirring

20210527_1001_60af9ea4f14fb.webp Now you want to bring the porridge to a boil, then lower the temperature and continue to cook, with occasional stirring. Keep cooking until the porridge is getting a bit firm and doesn't just run of the spoon

Serve and enjoy

20210527_1001_60af9ec448be5.webp Now to put on a plate, put a butter eye (when you put a dash of butter in the middle of the white porridge, it kind of resembles an eye) and sugar on top. Then serve and enjoy

You can also have cinnamon on top, it's very common
