Ris grøt (porridge): Recipe
Saturday is porridge day or at least it used to be traditionally. Still many Norwegians like to have porridge on Saturdays and rice porridge is my personal favorite. Lets see how to make Norwegian rice porridge (ris grøt)

Cook the rice
Cook the rice and water. I'm using a rice cooker, but kettle also worksAdd milk and vanilla
When the rice is cooked, add the milk and vanilla, then stir it inKeep stirring
Now you want to bring the porridge to a boil, then lower the temperature and continue to cook, with occasional stirring. Keep cooking until the porridge is getting a bit firm and doesn't just run of the spoonServe and enjoy
Now to put on a plate, put a butter eye (when you put a dash of butter in the middle of the white porridge, it kind of resembles an eye) and sugar on top. Then serve and enjoyYou can also have cinnamon on top, it's very common
