Samsung 34 sqm Air Purifier: Unboxing and first impression
Samsung has a line of Air Purifiers and this is their 34 sqm Air Purifier. Let's unbox and see what's included
The Air Purifier comes in a decent large box and after you've removed some tape, you can pull it out from the top and inside you'll find the air purifier, manual and filter
Filters
The Air Purifier have two sets of filters, with one of them you can see the small coal pieces inside the filter
First you have a washable mesh filter. How frequently it needs to be washed, depends on how dusty the area it's located in
Behind you'll find a 2-in-1 PM2.5 (white area) and Deodorization (black area). This is not washable and needs to be replaced when fully consumed
Smart features?
Unfortunately this model do not include any Smart features or app/remote controll. You can't even use it with timer or Smart plug, as it does not auto power on if it looses powerIf you want Smart features, you need to double the price and get the bigger model to get Smart features. While the competitors have Smart features on models half the price of this one
Display
On the top you have four buttons. Power, Fan Speed (3 speeds and auto), Sleep mode (runs more quiet) and Lock (disables all buttons)
There'd also an icon that looks like a three/arrow with dots above, which is indicating Air quality based on colour. Blue is best quality, green is good quality, yellow is moderate quality and red is worse quality
If you run it on max (3 bars) it has pretty strong airflow and is very silent. If you run it on one bar, it barely lifted the paper and is even quieter. There's also a night mode, where silent operation is top priority
Other features
On the side you'll find two sensors. One for dust and one for gas. Not tested the gas alarm, so can't say how well it works or how loud the alarm is
On the back you'll find a near useless handle, as it's to shallow and there's no ledge for grip. So if you want to carry it, you'll need to use two hands or you won't have proper grip
On the back is also where you find the the power cable
Initial impression
It's easy to setup and the filters are easy to insert. During operation, even on max Fan Speed, it's fairly quiet in operation with good airflowUnfortunately it does not have smart features, but do you need it to be Smart? That's very individual and depends on your need. For some it can be good to review how the air quality have evolved and especially a timer feature can be nice to have, which is something you won't be able to do with this Air Purifier
Beside the power it consume, you need to factor in filter replacement cost. Filters cost about 1/6 of the price of the air Purifier itself
I got this product when I bought my Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra and would probably not bought it, if I didn't get it with my phone. As it doesn't have Smart Features and the filters are fairly expensive, compared to some of the competition. I also live in a fairly clean area, so it's rare it indicates anything other than blue and pollen isn't a big issue in the Phillipines
