Alpha Smart 18E: What's inside?
You might have a water heater in your home, either a water tank or an instant water heater, such as this Alpha Smart 18E
Let's take a look what's inside
Disconnect the power
If you plan to take it apart yourself, it's always important to turn of the power first
Here you need to either turn of the fuse or unplug the power cable (if possible)
Remove screw and cover
Underneath you'll find one screw
After it's removed, you can pull the cover slight out from the bottom and then straight up and it will be off
Why take it apart?
If you are going to remove / install the water heater, you need to remove the lid to get to where you screw it to the wall
I took the Alpha Smart 18E apart, as the advertised "Splash-Proof IP25 Standard" is not the best. If you spray water in the right direction (kids height) from the front, there's a big chance water gets inside and heat will be stuck on max heat (happened twice to me now)
So I open it up, remove the moisture I can, spray some contact spray to prevent rust and damage to the board, leave it open for as long as I can to dry and close it when I can't stay around
Then I'll leave the power off for a day or two, to make sure it's proper dry
