Cleaning detergent tray

There's quickly soap builds up, as one quickly spills a bit here and there or its in a corner where the water doesn't reach with enough pressure
Detergent trays gets really dirty over time, if they aren't regularly cleaned
Release
Push the release button, pull out the tray and bring it to a sink (or where you plan to clean it)
Rins with water
Just rins it with water and scrub gently with your fingers, until the soap residues are gone
There's normally removable parts in the fabric softener compartment. Which allows you to clean easier, when removed
When done, you can reinsert into the washing machine. Easier if you push the release button again, as you insert or it can be a bit harder to insert
