A good place to start, is by removing and cleaning any loose parts

Then clean the drip tray, I like use to use steel wool with some dishwashing liquid and some water. It easily remove any stains

As I'm doing a deep cleaning, I'm removing the two screws (some models are just sitting loose) and then remove the drip tray and I'll wrap up the cleaning of it in the sink

Quite a lot can drio down over time, so it's good to clean here once in a while. I first go over using steel wool with dishwashing liquid and water

Then I wipe over with tissue. You can also use a rag, but as it can be quite greasy I prefer using something I can throw afterwards

Then I find something small and long, such as a plastic toothpick. Then I go over one by one the exaust ports for the flames

This helps clean up buildups and make the flame come out more even and clean

If you wonder if you might have missed a spot, turn on the flame and check

Then put back the drip tray

Lastly clean the sides and underneath. I normally also clean the wall and floor behind it, as there could be some mess there as well
