Hanabishi Electric Griller HGRILL-450

I've always loved grilling and coal grills are my favorite, because if the lovely flavor you get from them
Draw back with coal grills are many. They often create lots of smoke, they can be difficult to light up, you will need to refill coal for longer sessions, they're mainly for outside use and you need to let it warm up for a while, before you can start grilling
Electric grills
A good alternative, especially in these days when going outside isn't an as viable option, are electric grillsLet's take a closer look at the Hanabishi Electric Griller (HGRILL-450)
In the box
In the box you'll find the unit and a power cableThe unit is in three pieces. The grill itself made from die-cast aluminum, a drip tray with coper costing surface and a body frame from plastic
Power cable
The power cable connects on the side of the unit and also house the temperature regulator. You have the option from 0 (off) to 5 (max). With an 1250W input powerCable is only 118cm (~46.5 inches). So if you want to cook on the table, you'll quickly need an extension cable
Cooking result
After cleaning it, it's time to take it for a spin. It cooks the food fine and you'll get the nice grill flavor out of the foodThere's barely any smoke or steam from the unit. I have a smoke detector right above the grill and it didn't go off
The cook time is not to bad, but it will take a bit longer compared to frying it on the pan. Benefit is no need for oil or butter, so it's a healthy option
Grill
The grill can quickly have quite a lot of left overs, after you're done cooking. Which is completely normalHow much, will depend on what you're making. Marinated food will normally leave more, as the marinade normally drips a bit when you first put in the meat
Drip tray
After a grilling, there will be quite a bit on the drip tray and this is where you see the benefit of grilling compared to fryingAll this drops to the tray, instead of staying on the food. Giving a much healthier food option
Cleaning
After a good meal, there will unfortunately be some need for some cleaning as well and as already seen, the grill becomes quite messy. Question is how easy is it to actually clean it? If it's to hard, that quickly becomes a deal breakerGood news, cleaning was very easy and straight forward. But I recommend using a brush to get the grill proper clean. I only had sponges, so it was hard to get proper into all areas and get it proper clean. The dirt sits loose, so it's not hard to remove, as long as you can reach it
Conclusion
Overall I'm satisfied with the grill, it grills the food evenly all over the grill surface. The drip tray collects any droppings and is easily removableEspecially that there's basically no smoke coming from the unit, makes it perfect to grill inside
I'd easily buy it again, if I didn't already own it
