4 to 0 to 3 bars

Last few weeks, we have had issues with the Kuda New Wolf just randomly stopping and the power go from 4 bars, to 0 bar bar and back up to 3 bars. All within a few seconds, where it even loses power and the speed slows down

After we opened the battery compartment, it became clear that there were issues with the batteries. It can be hard to see in the image, but the batteries should be flat and have straight lines. However, here you can see uneven lines and rounded sides, which means the batteries are bloated

Battery swap

Unfortunately Kuda only offer 6 months of warranty on the batteries, but they do offer swap-in. Where you give back the bloated batteries to them for recycling and they offer you new batteries for about half the price of buying them new

As our eBike barly made it to the village gate, we went with the later option. Part of the benefit of going with Kuda, is that they offer home support and we had to wait about a week for our appointment. On the day of our appointment, one of the mechanics came to our home and replaced the batteries. Took less than half an hour to get the old batteries out and the new ones in

The Kuda mechanic explained this was a know issue and the lifespan on the batteries they offer are 18 months. Depending on usage, some of their clients have to change every year. While others can go 2-3 years before needing to change the batteries
