PandaPro: Good deal or waste of money? (2023)
Foodpanda
Foodpanda is a food delivery service, where you can order from a wide selection of restaurants and shops. Then get it delivered to your doorstepPandaPro benefits
By subscribing to an PandaPro subscription, you'll get a few different benefitsFree deliveries (now capped)
Main reason for most to get a PandaPro subscription are the free deliveries. Earlier this year they increased them to 30 free deliveries a month and just recently further raised it to unlimited free deliveries a month on orders above PHP 400 (PHP 999 for shops). But with a cap at PHP 59 per delivery and anything above you'll need to pay for yourselfBefore you had less free deliveries monthly, but instead no cap on delivery fee. If you order close by and not much during peak rush, this new offer can be an improvement. If you instead like to order from restaurants further away and/or during peak hours, then this new offer can be a downgrade
Discounts
Many restaurants have an PandaPro discount, that gives you slight extra discount on your orderPickup
Select restaurants will give you an 5% pickup discount, compared to delivery priceDine-in discount
Select restaurants in a few major cities offer dine-in discount to PandaPro subscribers. Exact discount varies between restaurantsSubscription Price
If you get an 6 months or 12 months subscription, you'll receive slight discount on the monthly fee. There's no difference to the other benefitsMonthly subscription is billed PHP 50 every month, half-yearly is billed PHP 255 every 6 months (equals to PHP 42.50 / month) and yearly is billed PHP 399 ever 12 months (equals to PHP 33.30 month)
When it doesn't benefit you
If you order for less than PHP 400, you'll not receive "free (capped) deliveries" on your order and not all stores have any special PandaPro discountIf the store has an PandaPro discount, sometimes it's just a few percentes above the discount they give everyone or might come with a minimum spend
Even if you're not a PandaPro subscriber, you'll still see what discount each participating restaurant would give you if you subscribed
So was it a good deal or waste of money?
If PandaPro is a good or bad offer, depends on where you like to order from and how big your orders areIf you normally order above PHP 400, then you will have saved money after 1-3 orders (depending on delivery fee / restaurants discount), with a monthly subscription
If you normally order less than PHP 400 and from restaurants that doesn't give PandaPro discounts, then a subscription doesn't make much sense
