If you ever bought a bottle / can in Sweden, Norway, Germany and some more European countries, you might have noticed a pant charge and wondered what it is..

What is pant?

Every time you buy a drink that comes in a bottle or can, you need to pay pant. Which is basically a deposit, that you'll get back once you return the bottle / can and is to ensure you recycle

How to get refunded?

Bring your empty bottles and cans to the grocery store. At the entrance or back of the store, you'll fine one or more machines to return your bottles and cans

Insert with the bottom first, one by one. The machine will scan and add the amount

Once done, you can pick to give the money to charity or claim it. If you decide to claim it, you'll get a receipt you can claim from the counter

Be aware some stores no longer give cash and requires you to use the money in store. While some offers refund straight to your card
