Brown sauce: Recipe

Norwegian brown sauce fits perfectly with meatballs and meat cakes, but can also be used with other dishes or as a base for other sauces, such as Pepper Sauce

Directions

Make broth

Unless you have your own broth, dilute broth cubes in water and put aside

Melt and brown butter

Add butter in a casserole big enough for all the liquid and melt it

Once melted, we want to continue to cook it until it becomes brown and frequent stirring is needed

Add flour

Add all flour and stir it in, continue stirring until you have a nice nut brown color

Gradually add broth

Now you want to gradually add the broth, while properly mixing it in before adding more

Cook for 10 min

Now that all the broth is added, gently cook the sauce for 10 minutes

Season to taste

Finally add salt and paper to taste, mix it in and sauce is ready

Ready to serve

Now you can either serve the sauce on the side or add some meatballs or meat cakes into it
