Splash Island: Review

An water park south of Manila with slides, zip lines and other activities. Let's find out if its any good

Splash Island is an outdoor water park situated just south of Metro Manila. More precisely in Biñan, Laguna, Philippines

They've own vans going there, with a few different pickup locations from both within and outside Metro Manila. As we were so many, we rented our own van, as we could be more flexible

Admittance

Before going here, I recommend looking around for offers. As the walk-in rate is PHP 999, but if you referrence any deals you've seen on their homepage or social media page at the counter, you'll get that rate instead

We had found on their social media a promo, where you buy 12 tickets for PHP 399 per person (weekdays) and then you'd get two additional tickets for free. As one of us had birthday, so that person was also free. So we got 15 tickets, for the price of 13 tickets

I recommend takeing a picture of the schedule at the entrance, so you know when the different attractions are open and can plan when to go where. You'll also find the schedule around the park

Water based attractions

Splash Island have 10 water based attractions, which are all included in the entrance fee

You'll find maps located around the water park, for where you can locate the different attractions. Many of which is very sun faded, but they've a few that are redable

In the big pool, you'll find Inflatable Island. An inflated hindereance course, you can try to tackle

Just be careful in this area, as the ground is extremely slippery. It's clear they don't clean the water and pools good enough, as this buildup of algae should have been dealt with. Most pools have quit a lot of algea build up, but this is the only pool where the floor is dangerously slippery because of it during our visit

Next to Inflatable Island and in the same pool, you have canoes you can use to paddle around with

They've a decent selection in types of slides, but most requires plastic rings to slide on

Which isn't necessary a bad thing. As it allows for two people to ride together and if you have kids, allow them to ride more slides

Magellan's Drop is the only slides that uses mats and you'll get quite high speed going down this slide

Kids friendly attractions

You have two attractions that mainly focusing on kids

Water Wahoo is a playground in water, with leaking pipes, overflowing buckets and slides. Your youngest will easily spend hours playing here

Next to it, you'll find Curl of the Orient. A water slide for the smallest kids, where even teenagers isn't allowed

Other attractions

You'll also find other, non water based attractions, such as paintball and these are not included in the entrance fee

Over the big pool, you have the option to zip line. You can either ride over in an harness or on a bike

There's also a climbing wall, of you want to show off your climbing skills

For the smallest, there's also a playground and this is the exception to the non water based attractions, as this is free to use

Food and drinks

Food is priced fairly decent. Its slight more than outside, but still at an acceptable level. Most food options you'll find inside the food hall, but there's also a few stands around

Drinks on the other hand is more heavily marked up, no options for big bottles and they don't offer service water. So this will quickly be your biggest expense, after entrance fee

Storing valuables

There are lockers for rent (PHP 100), that's good for about a regular sized backpack

Otherwise you can put your phone and money in a waterproof bag, then carry it around

They also rent out huts and the more expensive can be locked

Sitting options

There's not that many free sitting options, beyond the food court. You quickly can feel pressured into renting a hut, especially if you're a group and want to have a place to rest, that's shaded

Normally in water park, you'd have some shaded benches and table will big umbrellas, but not at Splash Island

Verdict

I don't know if it's because they have been mostly closed for the past two years (pandemic) or if they just don't care, but many of the park areas was really worn down and is in serious need of renovation

On their website, social media and any other marketing. It looks brand new and well maintained, but that's not the case when you see it in person

They'll also try to sell you more expensive tickets at the entrance, if you don't know of the prices they list on their website and social media. Which feels like a shitty move
