You're also able to add your membership cards, currently only S&R is supported so you get the members discountDecent amount of stores and restaurants available
Considering the company haven't been on the market too long, the selection is decent of grocery stores and restaurantsThe Supermarket selection isn't as wide as the competition, but what you have, most will do fine with
Decent selection in stores
The selection in the stores are decent and it's easy to navigate. It doesn't seem to be complete selection, as there's a few products / variants I can't find when I look, but I know the store normally always carriesAdding to card is easy, you can select quantity and also specify what you want to happen if product is out of stock. Only wished there was an option to pick which product you wish to be substituted with. Now your only option is that the shopper suggest or to skip the product
First order
My first order went to McDonald's. There's a flat delivery fee at P48 if you're within a certain range of the store and then they'll add per km you go beyond (rate will be state in the app at time of ordering)I compared the price with McDonalds own app and price is exactly the same for all items, except delivery. On delivery Pick.A.Roo was P1 cheaper
Two of the burgers I ordered was not available, the store called me directly and informed me they were not available. They provided suggestions and I gave them what I wanted replaced
A bit later I got my ordered delivered to the lobby (they aren't allowed to deliver to unit in my building, because of the pandemic). The driver was in uniform and looked professional
As I paid with card, there was nothing for me to do other than receive the food. I noticed a flash as I walked a way, as the driver took a picture to confirm delivery. Here I wished they asked, as not everyone likes being taken a photo of without consent
Here's a feature I really liked and they beat the competition with. They don't charge your card / other payment method, before they deliver. So should your order be cancelled or changed, the correct amount will be reflected and you don't need to deal with the hassle of waiting weeks before the money is back into your account (bank system is slow in the Philippines)
Item unavailable
Unfortunately McDonald's didn't update Pick.A.Roo with the order being changed and only adjusted it in their own system. So when I was charged, I was charged the original price and not the new slightly lower priceAs I'm curious how Pick.A.Roo would handle it. I reached out to their support, where they told me they'd reach out to the store. I'll update this article when (if) I there's any outcome. Update: It's now been a few months and I never heard anything else and never got a refund. It was not much money, but next time it could been more and would have liked to see Pick.A.Roo taken more owner ship of the situation
This I don't see as a fault of Pick.A.Roo, but the store. But it might be good to be aware of this and have a talk with the delivery guy before they leave, if you know there's been adjustments to your order. To make sure everything is correct before they process the payment
