LG to step away from mobile production

LG announced they'll close down their mobile phone business

LG aims to wind down their mobile phone business by July 31st, but inventory of certain models might be still available after that date

They'll continue to provide support and software updates to customer, how long will vary by region

As they leave the competitive mobile phone sector, LG informs this will enable them to focus resources in growth areas such as electric vehicle components, connected devices, smart homes, robotics, artificial intelligence and business-to-business solutions, as well as platforms and services
