Let's take a look behind the scenes on how bonty is made
In this new behind the scenes series of articles, we'll take a look at how bonty is made and first out is equipment we use
Computer
We use a computer mainly for development of the site, where we'll do adjustments to the site. Such as adjusting colors of the site or adding the option to remember me, when you sign into your account
Notepad++ (text editor), FileZilla (ftp client) and browser are the main software we use, to both develop and daily operation of the site
Camera / Cellphone
Since the start of the site, all photos taken by us was taken from a cellphone camera and majority is taken from the Pocophone F1 (also called Poco F1 in some markets). Which have been a wonderful phone that we've used for years, but recently decided to instantly retire
A lot of the photos taken by the Pocophone F1, was taken with flash or the photos would end up blurry. As the phone don't have OIS (Optical Image Stabilization), meaning the camera will move to stabilize the image. But instead was relying on EIS (Electronic Image Stabilization), which means the phone will try to stabilize the photos with software
Before upgrading to our best camera yet, we had a few weeks we used the Xiaomi Redmi 8A and that gave decent photos, as long as the light condition was near perfect and phone was steady
Currently all photos are taken on the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra and that have improved our photo process a lot, since it's easier to take good photos. As the camera's have OIS, meaning the photos get less blurry and better night vision. Meaning we can get good photos, even if it's dark and without the need to use flash
The site also include screenshot's and press photos (mainly used back when we still covered news stories). The Look back series also included photos taken from aNokia Lumia 920 and maybe some other phones
We also write and manage the site from the cellphone, through the browser. As the site have a full management interface, where we can fairly easy write and adjust articles, monitor visitor count and what articles are popular
Main equipment
Our main two equipment, is a computer and a phone. The phone is our camera and where we write articles, while the computer is where we mostly do development
As we grow, there will always be more equipment we can invest in. Such as photo lights and items to spice up images. As of now, we only use two main equipment's
Behind the scenes (how it's made, basically) have always fascinated me personally and having an article series on it, we hope it will fascinate you as well. As we're still fairly small, we don't know how many entries there will be. Possible areas we can cover in future installments are; infrastructure (server, networking, ++), thought process behind articles (from draft to finished article), site development
