Tencent have started with face recognition
Chinese laws are very strict when it comes to kids and playing video games, now it just got stricter

Tencent have announced on their website QQ.com (in Chinese) [↗] that a couple of games have received face recognition requirements if you're playing after 10pm, to prove you're adult and more games to come
If you decline to have your face scanned or scanning fail to determine you as an adult. You'll be considered to be a minor and won't be allowed to play
It's not the first time China put restrictions on kids playtime. In 2019, China introduced multiple measures to reduce playtime among kids. Such as kids are only allowed to play half an hour every weekday and three hours in weekends
