Gabe Newell says we'll have a better idea end of the year

Gabe Newell was recently at Sancta Maria College in Auckland, New Zealand and during his time there, he answered some questions from students

One student asked; "Will Steam be putting any games on Consoles, or will it just stay on the PC?", where Gabe replied;

What that actually means, we'll have to wait for later this year. But that hasn't stopped speculations going wild online. Some think this means we will see Valve games on the consoles (which we have seen in the past), while other thinks it means Steam will be on the console. Some have also speculated in Valve partnering with Microsoft to publish a VR headset on the Xbox. Of course, it can be something completely different or end up being nothing at all
