Nintendo Switch Online

I personally almost never play online. I prefer single player games and if I play multiplayer, it's normally on the same device. Then why do I have an Online subscription?
Let's take a look at what an Nintendo Switch Online subscription get you
You get access to a selection of NES and SNES games you can play on the the Nintendo Switch
You've titles such as; Super Mario Bros. (NES), Super Mario Bros. 3 (NES), The Legend of Zelda (NES), Metroid (NES), Star Fox 2 (SNES), Donkey Kong Country 1/2/3 (SNES) and The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past (SNES), to name a few Additional titles are also released once in a while
It allows you to backup your games to the Cloud, so should something happen to your Switch or if you play on multiple Switch. You can always easily retrieve your save games
This is the only way to backup your games. Should something happen to your Switch and you don't have a cloud backup, it quickly means your save games are also lost
This is the main reason why I have a subscription. My old Switch died (charge port is broken) and only way to transfer save games was with an online subscription. Nintendo for some reason, doesn't allow you to transfer data, without having the charge cable connected
An the reason why most people will choose to get the online subscription: Online play
To play games online, you'll need the online subscription. Even if I don't play online, my kids like to play online and here's were Family membership comes into play
Nintendo offer two types of membership; Individual and Family
Individual Membership will allow one person to access their online services and you can subscribe for either 1, 3 or 12 months
Family Membership will allow up to eight person to access Nintendo's online services and subscription period is 12 months. A family membership cost less than two 12 months memberships, so it's instantly a cheaper option as soon as you're two or more people getting 12 months membersip
